·Hon'ble Mr. Justice P.N. Bhagwati, presently Chairperson of UN International Committee on Human Rights and consultant on Human Rights to over 60 countries worldwide. Former Chief Justice of India and Vice Chairperson of the United Nations Human Rights Commission.
·Hon'ble Mr. Justice Ranganath Misra, presently a Member of the Rajya Sabha. Former Chief Justice of India and the founder and first chairperson of the NHRC. Former Chairperson of the Committee for Implementation of Legal Aid Schemes and the Riots Commission and also a Member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, The Hague. Member of the Executive Board of the Indian Red Cross Society.
Hon'ble Mr. Justice U. C. Banerjee, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India. He headed the Environmental Bench of Kolkata High Court. Remained Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. Founding Chairman NALSAR University, Andhra Pradesh. Founding member of SARC Law. Presently Chairman of SARC Law India chapter. He is a chairperson of the Authority on Advance Ruling for Central Excise and Customs. His association with the RLEK has been for more than a decade.
· Hon'ble Mr. Justice V.S. Malimath, Chairperson of the Syllabus Committee on Human Rights of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Former Chief Justice of Karnataka and Kerala High Court, Member of the NHRC, and Member of the UN Fact-Finding Committee on Violations of Human Rights in Nigeria. Presently Chairman of Committee on Reforms of Criminal Justice System.
· Dr. L. D. Mishra (IAS), former Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Labour and specialist in Child and Bonded Labour issues. Presently head of International Labour Organisation (ILO) in the Philippines.
· Dr. Kamal Hossain, practicing lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and UN Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights situation in Afghanistan. Former Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, Chairperson of the Commonwealth Human Rights Advisory Commission, Chairperson of the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust, and Member of the Human Rights Peace Mission to Indonesia.
· Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa,· Former Minister for Ports, Naval and Fisheries, Government of Sri Lanka. Presently leader of the Opposition of Sri Lanka. President of the Committee for Solidarity with Palestinians and the Director of Human Rights and Legal Aid Organisation in Tangalle. Former Secretary of the Committee of Parliamentarians for Fundamental and Human Rights.
· Mr. Lokendra Bahadur Chand, Former, Prime Minister of Nepal, earlier had been Prime Minister of Nepal thrice and legal luminary. He participated in the SAARC summit in Male (Maldives) in 1998 and has been awarded the Knight's Grand Cross (UK).
· Mr. D. R. Karthikeyan, Former Director, Central Bureau of Investigation, former Director General, National Human Rights Commission. Former Special Director General, Central Reserve Police Force, presently President of Life Plus Positive Magazine.
· Mr. Chaman Lal, presently Special Rapporteur in the NHRC. Former Director of BSF Academy, Additional Director General of BSF and Director General of Police. Recipient of the President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the National Award of Padma Shri.
· Mr. V.S. Mathur, (IPS), former Vigilance Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission, New Delhi. Former Director General Police, UP. Recipient of the Presidents Police Medal for Distinguished Service and the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
· Prof. V.S. Mani, presently Professor of International Space Law and Director, Human Rights Teaching and Research Programme in Jawaharlal Nehru University. One of the experts and Legal Counsel for India in the Antlantique case (Pakistan vs. India) before ICJ 1999-2000 and Agent and Legal counsel for the Republic of Nauru in the Certain Phosphate Lands in Nauru case (Nauru vs. Australia) 1989-1993. Author/co-editor of five books including books on Human Rights.
Mr. Shanker Sen, Former Director of Indian Police Academy and Former Director General (Investigations), NHRC.
Dr. Faizan Mustafa, Director of Human Rights Centre, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Author of a number of books and articles for leading law journals. The Supreme Court has quoted one of his articles and he was a Member of the Committee that drafted the Asian Human Rights Charter.
